Grandma's Surprise Party & the Trip Home

On Sat. (5/29), we took you to Grandma's surprise birthday party!!! Grandma Betsy had bought you the most beautiful pink/black party dress,
which of course is how I got the idea to have Grandma's party theme - pink/black/white.


You met so many new people today including Cousins: Marni Gliklich, Nathan Gliklich, Sean Hyberg, Rob Hyberg, and Stephanie Ross. Great Aunts: Dale Gliklich, Enid Hyberg, Rheta Rosen, and Aunt Neety. Great Uncles: Lars Hyberg & Bernard Rosen. You also got to meet a lot of Grandma's (my mommy) friends, like Merle, Michelle, Alyson & Charlotte. You met so many new people...AND, you behaved so well! I was a little nervous because so many people were handling you that day, but you did not make a peep!!!!

After the party, Grandma Betsy and Grandpa Marc; Great Aunt Een, Great Uncle Lars and cousins, Sean & Rob; and Great Aunt Rheta and Great Uncle Bunny (Bernard) came back to the house. You slept for most of that, but woke up an hour or so later because you were hungry.

That night, we took you to dinner at Charlie Brown's. I have been so forgetful lately that I forgot your bottle. Grandma drove back to the house to get it, but luckily, you slept the entire time and we didn't even need the bottles afterall.

Sun. (5/30), we went shopping with Grandma Andi, Aunt Heather, Grandma Betsy & Great Aunt Dale
. Daddy, Grandpa Howard & Grandpa Marc went to the Yankees game. Because it's such a long drive home, we decided to leave Sunday. We stayed over in Carlisle, PA.

Today (5/31), we arrived home after a VERY long drive. We agreed never to do that drive again - gotta save up for plane tickets now!! You know what, though? You did so well on the drive. You just slept and occasionally would wake up a little fussy, but that's it!

1st Roadtrip!

On Wed (5/26), I took you to St. Elizabeth for a 2-wk weight check. Your last weight was 11 lbs 2 oz, and that was done about 2wks ago. Today, your weight was 11 lbs 11oz - slightly under where you should be right now, but it's okay. I'm going to try to give you a little bit more formula at each feeding. Right now, you're only taking about 4-5 oz at each feeding. I'm going to try to increase you to 5-6 oz per feeding. When I was your age, I weighed over 13lbs - what a piggy I was!!! :)

Daddy and I took you on your 1st roadtrip for Memorial Day 2010!! We split up the 10+ hour drive to New Jersey and stayed in St. Clairsville, OH at a Fairfield Inn. I thought you'd have difficulty sleeping, but to my surprise, you slept a perfect 7 hours!!

On Thurs. (5/27), we finished our drive to New Jersey and arrived at Grandma/Grandpa Rosen's house around 3:00pm, of course after daddy had to stop in Bala Cynwyd, PA for Chinese food - ah, the famous dumplings!!!

We don't think the drive agreed with you very well because you screamed literally the moment you were taken out of your carseat until you went to sleep that night. I think a 10+ hour car ride is just toooooo much for you. You know what?? It's a little too much for me, too!!

We're supposed to stay until Mon. (5/31), but I think we're going to leave Sun. night instead to split the ride up again.

Today, Fri. (5/28), Grandma (my mommy) and I took you to Grandma's favorite store, Bellies & Booties. She got you a BEAUTIFUL outfit for your naming ceremony in June! SO CUTE!! Tonight, we went for Hibachi dinner. You slept through the entire dinner! You are such a good girl! Tomorrow is Grandma's surprise party! Gotta get our beauty rest!!!

Move Over Carseat...Here Comes the Crib!!

Well, daddy and I are attempting to wean you out of your carseat and have you sleeping in your crib! We started on Fri (5/21), and that night, I think you got up one time. Sat night, you woke up at 6:30am and then today...you slept nearly 9 hours (I had to wake you up at 7:30am!). You woke up with a smile!!!!

This week, daddy and I are taking you on your 1st roadtrip!! We're going to visit my parents in Princeton, NJ. Daddy's parents will be there, too!! They won't believe how you've grown. They haven't seen you in about 6 wks!!!!!!!

Today You Are 10wks Old!!!

Today you are 10wks old!!! I cannot believe it!!! You're still sleeping through the night (7-8 hours!!). In fact, you're still sleeping right now and it's almost 8:30am!! You went to sleep last night at 11:15pm!!!!

We're going to go visit with my friend, Amanda, and her daughter, Naomi, at Kenwood Mall!!! Then, I have a doctor's appt at 2:00pm! Should be a GREAT day!!

I'm going to go check on you now - you've been sleeping for over 9 hours!!!!!!!

Slept 8hrs...AGAIN!!

Last night (the night of my 1st Mother's Day!!!) you fell asleep at 10:15pm and did not wake up until 6:30am!!!!! Another fabulous night of sleep for all in the Kozinn household!!!

At 4:30pm, OUR365 Photographers came to the house and you were in your 2nd photo shoot! What a natural you are!!! Rob, the photographer, was quite impressed!!! You fussed right before he started taking pictures, but I swooped in with the rescue snack bottle! :) I can't wait to see these pictures!!!

Mommy's 1st Mother's Day!

Today is my 1st Mother's Day!! Do you know what you got me...well, besides your beautiful self?! You, daddy and Honey got me a beautiful bouquet of flowers (pink/white hydrangea in a brown vase with a pink/brown polka-dot ribbon!!!), AND a sterling silver heart locket from Tiffany's!!! I can't wait to put pictures inside the locket and wear it!!
It's my new favorite necklace!!!

I am so thankful for you, Hailey!!! I was so proud to be a mommy today!! Daddy took us out to brunch at Grandview Tavern & Grille in Crescent Springs, KY. It was soooo good. You slept the whole time! Then, we went to the mall and you continued to sleep. You didn't wake up one time!

It's almost 10:00pm and you're sleeping. I think it might be night night time!

Sweet dreams!

Rough Week

Life as a 7wk old was quite rough!! Not sure if there was a full moon throughout the week or what, but you just had meltdown after meltdown. Daddy and I are hoping that you'll grow out of this colic funk soon, however; this is all just part of being a baby. The crying spells do not make us love you any less, but it makes us sad that we can't comfort you. Sometimes it's just easier to hold you close and let you cry it out, as much as it hurts to hear your cries, and wipe away your tears. We don't know why you're crying...and you don't know why you're crying. It's a lose lose battle, BUT, we will get through it!

On a more positive note, you are 8wks old tomorrow!!!! AND, this weekend is my
1st Mother's Day!! Daddy made reservations for brunch on Sunday, and I bought you a beautiful dress (with matching bloomers) to wear!!

I am writing this entry as you're crying (you're hanging out with daddy). Hoping you'll get tired of crying, and just let yourself go to sleep. Wishing you the sweetest of sweet dreams! See you in the morning, love!

7 Weeks!!

Wow! You're 7 wks old already! Daddy and I can't believe it! Time is flying!!

Yesterday (4/30), you had a visit with my friend, Amanda, and her 5mo old daughter, Naomi. I hope you two will be very good friends!!

It's going to be a rainy weekend, so we may not get out that much. That's okay...we'll play in the house!!!
