A Step Closer to Walking...

I'm still not convinced you like me again...really taking this whole reaction to me saying "no" personally. :(

Tried to skype with GrAndi and Grandpa Howard tonight, but you were really in a mood. Maybe it's your teeth, not sure. You're pretty much putting your entire hand in your mouth these days, so hopefully that's all this is, and you really do like me!! :) I mean, I carried you for almost 39 weeks and then birthed ya!!! How can you be mad at me!?!?

I've been watching you walk with your walker, and I noticed that if I put the walker kind of close to the ottoman, you'll take one giant step from the walker to the ottoman instead of standing at the walker, sitting down and crawling to the ottoman. I suppose any day you'll take a free step. You also used your "sippy" cup with a straw tonight. I bought you a cup with a straw because one our way home from Buffalo, I gave you the straw from my drink and you actually figured out how to get the liquid! You're so smart!!!!

Rough Weekend.

This weekend was a little rough. Daddy had to close the store ALL weekend, so we really didn't get to see him that much. Last night, you and I were playing in your play area, and you kept hitting me in the nose. I know you're in a stage where you're reaching for things, including noses, so I tried to tell you "no." All of a sudden you had a pouty face on, and started crying. :( You then took your head, and threw it on my chest crying. I felt SOOOOO bad. I have said "no" in the past, but you had not really reacted this way. I really felt terrible. After you calmed down, we attempted to go upstairs, but Honey raced us up the stairs. I tripped on Honey. I think you were really scared. It was just an all around terrible night.

Today was a better day, but when you got up this morning and I was changing you, I told you "no" again because you were turning on the table. You started crying again. :( I felt SO bad and for the entire day, I was convinced that you hated me. Throughout the day I had to say "no" a few more times, but luckily, you didn't cry...you also didn't stop what you were doing, but at least I didn't feel as terrible!!!

I can't wait for the day when you understand what I am saying, and understand why I am saying them. I just feel so terrible when you cry. Breaks my heart.

You went right to sleep tonight, which was good! You have been having little issues here and there with being in your crib, in the dark, alone. I have a nightlight in there now, but I have seen these turtle lights that I may get you. It's a big turtle that has a light inside of it. It's supposed to be soothing. I stayed in your room a little longer this time while I watched you fall asleep. You took your bottle, and slowly leaned yourself on your side, still drinking. I turned on your music, and you seemed very calm. No fussing or anything!!!!

Sleep well - don't hate me for saying "no" to you. :(

Lifejacket!

Daddy and I took you to swim class today, and you learned to swim with a lifejacket. The instructer said that it is meant to teach kids how to float on their backs, and that is exactly what you did. You weren't too sure about it because it kind of smushed your face, but you did float and kicked your little leggies.

Daddy had to go to work this afternoon, so we took a 2 hour nap!!! After that, we did a little errand to find more party supplies/decorations, but had to come early because my tummy hurt!!!! You played all afternoon.

I just put you in your crib because you seemed sleepy. I can hear you kicking the crib, so it may take you a little bit to fall asleep.

10 Month Weight Check!!

Today, we went to get a weight check on you. Dr. Warner was able to see you even though your next scheduled drs appt isn't until you're 1. Had to get a weight check for your baby book.

Today you weighed in at 20lbs 14 oz, a little bit over 1 lb gained since your last appt which was 12/14/10. You also grew to 19.5 inches. You were 19 inches at your last appt. Such a growing weed!!!

Okay...daddy just left for work so let's go SHOPPING!!! I have coupons that expire tomorrow! :)

Click, Click, Click!

Yesterday, when I got home from work, I heard you making a clicking sound. I went over to you, and made a clicking sound with my tongue, and sure enough, you followed and did the same thing right back at me. It was so funny. Daddy said that he and you were playing the clicking game today, too!!!

Your Great-Grandma Rita had surgery today. :( And you know what??? Grandma Betsy told me that she and Great-Grandpa Harvey can't stop talking about you. They love you so much. I think that it really meant a lot for them to be able to play with you before her surgery.

Oh guess what??? I'm going CRAZY on your birthday party!!! I can't stop buying things. I'm on quite a roll, but you know what...you only turn 1 once, and I want it to be special for you, us and our guests! I can't wait until your party!!!

You're in bed now...went to be a little early because you didn't really nap at Michelle's. You have a little cough, but hopefully it's nothing major. You seem to get over things very quickly, which is GREAT! I am not feeling that great either, but hopefully I won't get sick. I was able to get you an appt at the doctor's for just a walk-in weight check. I am certain you're over 20lbs...My guess will be 20lbs 5oz and 29.75 inches! :) I'll have to check with GrAndi to see her prediction. She is so much better at guessing.

Trip to Buffalo!!

This past weekend we traveled to Buffalo to visit Granmda Betsy and Grandpa Marc, as well as Great-Grandma Rita and Great-Grandpa Harvey. As soon as we arrived, Grandma Betsy and Grandpa Marc were ready to play.
They had toys and books for you. Grandpa Marc got on the floor with you to play. They just could not believe how much you had grown, and couldn't believe how quickly you crawled! That night we took you to the infamous Anchor Bar, home of the greatest buffalo wings. You were such a good girl. Daddy and I went to see the Buffalo Sabres play, so Grandma Betsy and Grandpa Marc took you to see your Great-Grandparents, who I heard just adored watching you crawl around. When daddy and I got home from the hockey game, we went into check on you. You had pooped and actually thrown up. :( Daddy and I had to wake you up because you had rolled around in throw up. We gave you a bath, and then you fell back to sleep. Poor thing. I think throwing up is all related to teething because your top 2 teeth look like they're about to come through.

On Saturday, Grandma Betsy and I were getting ready to do errands and you fell asleep! It was okay because we really wanted you to have a nap, so we let you sleep for about an hour, and then met daddy and Grandpa Marc at daddy's favorite Indian restaurant, Cabob & Curry. Again, you were great! You chewed on a celery stick and ate Naan, really yummy Indian bread. After lunch, Grandma Betsy took me to the spa for a massage and pedicure! We took you in because she wanted to show you off. Everyone loved you!!! While I was getting my massage, I could hear Grandma Betsy singing "Oh the wheels on the bus..." It was so funny. When you're older, I'll take you to get massages and pedicures! I can't wait! Saturday night we went to Hyde Park Steakhouse. Grandma Betsy, Grandpa Marc, Great-Grandma Rita, Great-Grandpa Harvey, and daddy all were there.

You were a little fussy last night, grabbing your ears, but still good as usual. Daddy and I went to a movie after dinner, so Grandma Betsy and Grandpa Marc babysat you again. You were so tired that you fell asleep in the car on the way home. When you got back to the house, Grandma Betsy laid you down with Grandpa Marc, gave you a bottle, and apparently you took 3 sips and passed out! Sleepy little girl.

When you woke up this morning, guess what!?!??! Your 2 top teeth popped right through your little gummies! No wonder you were a little fussy. I think the throwing up and grabbing your ears are all teething related. Poor thing.

Well, we're finally home from our weekend!! On one of our rest stops, I got a to-go Diet Coke. I let you play with the straw, and you actually figured out how to use it! Maybe we'll bypass the sippy cups and just just cups with straws. I'll have to check the books because I don't want using a straw to mess up your teeth coming in.

Hopefully daddy will be home soon....he's at hockey.

Fun with Friends and Climbing Stairs!!

This weekend was filled with friends!! On Friday, you got to hang out with baby Paxton, who is 6.5 months old. You had a BLAST with him! Paxton's mommy, Ashley, and I tried to get you two to kiss, but it just wasn't happening, which I suppose is a good thing - I couldn't bare the thought of you REALLY dating!!!! Lord help me when it comes time for you to really date...

On Saturday we were supposed to go swimming, but you threw up. :( You threw up once in the morning, and then spit up shortly after that, but then were fine the rest of the day. We stayed in pretty much the entire day.

Today, we met Auntie Laura at the outlet malls.
Right before we left, do you know what you did????? You climbed an ENTIRE flight of steps! I couldn't believe it...you did it without any problems at all. Now getting down the steps?? Well, we haven't quite figured that out.

You're a little fussy right now, but hopefully you'll go to sleep soon.

1st FACIAL BRUISE!!!!

I forgot to add this to the blog yesterday, but when I picked you up from Michelle's, she told me that you had climbed 6 steps yesterday!!!! She said she turned her head for 1 minute and then BAM, you were all the way up the stairs!!! Gotta get that gate up!!!

Today when I picked you up, Michelle said that she had texted me, but because I was on the phone, I did not get it until afterwards. A few minutes before I got to her house, you had fallen on the hardwood in her kitchen. Your forehead immediately swelled and bruised.

:( Poor thing. You seem to be a really quick healer, but this looks pretty bad!! Bruises always tend to look worse before they get better any way, but we shall see.

OMG! You're 10 months old!!!

Today you are 10 months old! I CANNOT BELIEVE IT!! I'm pretty sure if I look back at my other entries, the phrase, "I cannot believe it" is all over the place!! It's so true, though. It feels like just yesterday you were born.

You know what I've been doing lately???? I've been planning what will be the most ridiculous, but most fabulous 1st birthday party ever!!!! Your party theme is pink and brown leopard print! I cannot wait! It's going to be so much fun!

This coming weekend we are packed full again! Daddy has to work, but on Friday, you get to play with your friend, Paxton!!! We probably will visit daddy afterwards, since he'll be in Newport, which is much closer than his normal store. On Saturday, you have your swim lesson, and then on Sunday, we're going to meet Auntie Laura at the outlet malls!!!!! YAY!!!!! Oh and I think daddy said something about possibly going to The Cheesecake Factory for dinner!!!! We love that place!!!!

Diaper Rash.

After a long day at work, I picked you up from Michelle's! Of course you had a great day, good as always! Michelle said that you had a dirty diaper and that it was a little soft and liquidy. When I changed your diaper, your bottom was all red. :( You've actually never had diaper rash before. I guess that's pretty good considering you're a few days away from being 10 months old, however; I feel sad for your bottom. Guess we're going to have to load you up on Desitin!!!!!!!

A Birthday Party & Baby Shower!!!

Today we were SOOOOO busy! We celebrated with your friend, Izabella, at her 4th birthday party, and then had to rush off to Aunt Jill's house for one of mommy's friend's baby showers!

You were the hit of the shower! Mommy got to visit with all of her friend from her old job. They could not believe how big you were. Last time they saw you was when you were itty bitty!! Now you're a big girl!!! You kind of were waving at people. I'm not sure it was a full blown wave hello, but you were wave your arm up and down. It was really cute.


You were SOOO good! You really weren't fussy at all, and left the doo doos (hehe!) until we got home! THANK YOU! :) You were so tired that you slept the entire way home!!! A much needed nap, of course!!


Tonight, daddy and I fixed your crib. We thought that we had put it on the lowest setting, but there was one more lower setting. You crib is as low as it can possibly go, which is good because your entire head/neck were above the front railing before. Made me REALLY nervous!!!!! I think you're sooooo tired that you're struggling to fall asleep. :( Hoping you'll be able to fall asleep soon. I know you've had a rough day, but as always, thank you for being such a good girl!!!

Playdate with Naomi!

Today we had a playdate with your friend, Naomi! She just had her 1st birthday in December, so we brought her a present. Naomi's mommy, Amanda, made lunch for the mommies, and you girls played. Actually, Naomi was sitting in her highchair eating bits of chicken and cheese. I wonder if I can try shaved chicken with you...I'll have to check with the doctor. Naomi is already walking. I don't think you're too far behind her.

"Uh Oh!"

I think you said this earlier in the week, but today (1/5/11) it was clear as day..."Uh oh!" AND the best part is, is that sometimes when we say it, you'll repeat it right after us! It's so cute! You don't know what it means but still...you're definitely learning to repeat things that people say...SO, guess we have to be careful!!!! :)

You had your photoshoot tonight...oh Hailey, were these pictures adorable!!! I can't wait to see the rest of the pictures. I am hoping to use at least one of them for your 1st birthday invitation, which by the way it pink leopard print! Yep...you're a wild girl!!!!!


We are soooo busy this weekend!!! Daddy is off work this weekend, too, so there will be lots of quality family time! On Friday, we're going to visit your friend, Naomi, and then we're going to come back home and mommy's friend, Megan, and her new baby, Kaylee, is having a photoshoot at Michelle's!! On Saturday, you have your 2nd session of swimming at 9:30am! I think I'll make daddy get in the water with you like always! :) On Sunday, we have Izabella's 4th birthday party, and then have a baby shower at Auntie Jill's house at 2:00pm! BUSY, BUSY, BUSY!!!

Solid DOO DOO!!!

Finally...after 15 days of having diarrhea, you had your 1st solid DOO DOO!!!!! I was at work when it happened, but daddy was home with you and sent me a text. I was so excited...I almost poste something on facebook!!! We were really getting concerned that you weren't getting better, but the doctor was right...just needed to let "whatever" run its course!

Glad you're feeling better. Tomorrow you have a photoshoot with Michelle! I am hoping to use one of the pictures for your 1st birthday invite!!!!!

We May Have Turned a Corner!!

So, yesterday was the first day in a long time that you did not have a messy diaper. Today, although you did have a messy diaper, Michelle said that it was not as loose as it was before! I think this is GREAT news because I did give you a little bit of applesauce yesterday, and I gave you sweet potatoes/white beans tonight!

You also got your 2nd birthday party invitation (first of 2011)!!!! Izabella is turning 4 years old, and she is having a princess birthday party on Sunday. We have a baby shower to go to on this day, too! You'll be all partied out!!! I think we have Ada's birthday party coming up, too, in February!! How exciting! AND THEN IN MARCH, WE HAVE YOUR 1st BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!

No Messy Diapers & a Big Girl Carseat!!

Grandma & Grandpa Rosen left to go back home today. (SAD FACE!!!) They had so much fun with you. I'm pretty sure you are what makes their world go round!!! You know what els??? Today was one of the first days in a long time that you haven't had a messy diaper. Nope! Just LOTS of REALLY wet ones, which is fine. I think it's from all of the Pedialyte you've had, but it's good for you - restoring any nutrients lost while having diarrhea.

Today was also the first day that we put you in your new big girl carseat!! I don't know about you, but I loved it! It's sooooo roomy, and it has 2 cupholders! It feels really soft. I hope you like it!! You know what I don't like about you being in a different carseat? I could take your old one in and out, and pop it in the stroller, but if you fall asleep in this new one, I have to wake you up to take you out. :(


Tonight you were talking up a storm. Actually this whole weekend you were talking so much. I think it had a lot to do with Grandpa's IPAD application, "Talking Tom the Cat." It is so funny. It's a kitty cat that you can talk to, and it repeats what you say. So, you can only imagine the funny things it would say because you were just talking, talking, talking!!! I downloaded it on daddy's IPAD, too, so you can talk to Tom whenever you want. I really think it will help you learn to talk.

You said a new sound tonight - "go go." You don't know what it means, but it's so funny to hear new sounds!

Still Not Feeling Better!!

Today is New Year's Day, the very first day of January in the year 2011!!! You slept in until about 8:30am - THANK YOU!! :) When you woke up, you had a messy diaper, so I gave you a bath immediately. I tried to give you mostly Pedialyte today, but this afternoon I did give you a bottle which you sucked down!!!

It's 6:30pm and you have already had 4 messy diapers. :( That's the most you've had, so we're really starting to get worried. Dr. Warner keeps saying that this normal, and sometimes the diarrhea gets worse before it gets better, but I'm not sure. Still you have no other symptoms, which makes me feel a little bit better. Daddy is going to call Dr. Warner on Monday to see if he can bring you in on Tues, and if not, he wants to get another opinion. Monday will be exactly 2 weeks that you've had diarrhea.
